FAQ
Do you offer standard landscape packages?
We don’t. Every project has specific need, so we evaluate all of your needs and desires to come up with a customized perfect solution for you. Landscapers that offer packages care about profits and not their customer’s happiness. They quickly go through the motions and move onto the next customer.
When is the best time to plan landscaping and gardens?
To have the most options and the most stunning outcomes for your new garden or landscaping, the best time to reach out to Artistic Gardens is in mid to late March, even if the weather tells you otherwise. That allows us to take some time to understand your vision and to truly hone in on a wonderful garden plan. Once the obvious season kicks in there is a rush to schedule work and every week the most unique plants become more scarce.
When is the best time to plant sod?
The fall is clearly the best time so that planted sod is not overwhelmed with excessive summer heat and sun. In the fall sod has a chance to acclimate to its new environment and put down roots in the ideal growing season.
Which are better to plant perennials or annuals?
Typically, we plant a mixture of both. Each has strengths and weaknesses.
Perennials are typically a little bit larger than annuals and used for visually anchoring a design. Annuals characteristically have the most flowers throughout the season. By combining both perennials and annuals, we get a wonderful mixture and advantages that both have to offer.
Do you plant bamboo?
Yes. Please visit our dedicated bamboo website artisticbamboo.com
Are there any plants that you will not plant?
There are no specific plants that we avoid, however, some plants have to be planted with certain considerations. For example, grapes make a very lovely presentation that are enjoyable to look at and add a different sense of design. However, grapes are poisonous to dogs if there is a dog or dogs on the property where the grapes are to be planted, we won’t plant for their safety. Other plants have certain considerations as well either because they are poisonous to humans or animals or if planted improperly can be invasive. Our policy is to always understand our client’s desires and the circumstances and work with them to have the best and safest garden designs.
How long does it take to get an appointment landscaping or hardscaping?
It completely depends upon the size of the project and our workload at the time. In the peak of the season it can take a few weeks until we have availability on our calendar. In the fall generally we have a less full calendar and the ability to schedule appointments more quickly.
Do you price work by the hour or by the job?
We price by the project specific needs. There are some small aspects of projects where certain charges may be by the hour, but overall almost all work we do is priced as a fixed project price.
Can I provide my own plants, shrubs, pavers, etc. for you to install?
Typically, no. We primarily work with materials that we source ourselves. This is because when we supply the materials, we take full responsibility for their quality and any issues that may arise. If client-provided materials have problems (e.g., plants don’t thrive, pavers are defective), it creates a ‘gray area’ regarding who is responsible for the additional costs or rework. By sourcing materials ourselves, we ensure consistent quality and streamline the process, allowing us to deliver the work without complications.
Do you provide yard maintenance?
No.
What is an Oasis Garden?
While most homes have basic landscaping, an Oasis Garden is a truly special outdoor space designed as your personal retreat. It’s a beautiful, custom-crafted sanctuary tailored specifically to your desires, providing a place where you can relax in tranquility and beauty. We partner with you to transform your ideas into a living vision, allowing you to immerse yourself in your own private garden oasis.
Do you sell plants for me to install?
Very rarely.
Do you remove unwanted bamboo?
Yes, we provide professional bamboo removal services, including complete root system extraction. Be careful about hiring just any landscaper that doesn’t have specific bamboo removal knowledge or it may return.
